The Center for Puppetry Arts Museum Docents are trained volunteers who help inspire our patrons to explore and discover the history and magic of puppetry through the puppets on display at CPA.

CPA’s Docents are adults of all ages, walks of life, and educational backgrounds who enjoy puppetry, learning new things, and sharing that knowledge with others.  Docents greet museum guests, lead tours, assist with special events, and act as ambassadors of CPA.

Training:

CPA’s Docent candidates must go through a 10 week training program to gain the necessary skills and experience to lead tours and to familiarize themselves with CPA’s mission, history, museum collection, etc. Training sessions are 3 hours each, once a week. Docents must commit to the program for a minimum of one year, volunteering at least 6 hours a month throughout the year.

How to Apply:

Docents provide a valuable service to CPA and are a vital part of our community. If you would like to contribute your time and talent, click on the Docent Application button above.
