La Muela del Rey Farfán (The Toothache of King Farfan)
by Teatro SEA, Puerto Rico and New York City 2009-10 SummerFest Performance in Spanish & English From the creators of La Cucarachita Martina (Martina the Little Roach) comes a comedy about a monarch whose dental difficulties give his kingdom a royal pain. In this story, a stubborn, toothache-suffering king learns the value of loving and respecting others in order to be healed. This award-winning bilingual production is reminiscent of a 19th Century "Zarzuela" (Spanish operetta) and features 40 puppets (including 20 that are life-size), singers, musicians, and a contemporary music score. A hit with audiences of all ages! ![]() La Muela del Rey Farfán and its Create-A-Puppet Workshop are part of Puppets Take Atlanta & Beyond. This July 2009 festival is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts.
