Meet the Puppeteers!

Puppeteer
Bryan Mercer

Bryan Mercer has been with the Center for 12 years as a puppeteer, musical director and composer of Body Detective, Pooh Corner, and more. Look for him again in Paul Bunyan and the Tale Tale Medicine Show and The Ghastly Dreadfuls at the Center, and in Frankenstein at Theater Emory.

Puppeteer
Julie Scarborough

Julie Scarborough is excited to be back in the rainforest! She has worked here as a puppeteer since 1998 – playing everything from a dinosaur to a singing onion. Thank you for coming out and supporting live theatre – we hope you enjoy the show! And as always, love to Steve and Elena.

Puppeteer
Amy Strickland

Amy Strickland wants you to have fun in the Rainforest with her and her fellow puppeteers! Her past Center performances include Dinosaurs, Adventures of Little Noodle, The Little Pirate Mermaid, Cinderella Della Circus, and Winnie-the-Pooh. She has also puppeteered for Haverty Marionettes, The City of Orlando Puppetroupe, Am-Jam Productions, Pinocchio's Marionette Theater, and Walt Disney World. She thanks her fellow creatures Julie, Clint, Bryan, Jeffery, Jon, and Kris! Also, much love goes out to her parents and her fellow adventurer Tim!

Puppeteer
Clint Thornton

Clint Thornton is very happy to return to Rainforest Adventures a second time, having done it in 2006. Other shows at the Center include Weather Rocks!, Dinosaurs, Duke Ellington's Cat, Aladdin, and Plant Doctors. Look for him in Frankenstein this winter at Theater Emory, and also watch for his directing work in Paul Bunyan and the Tale Tale Medicine Show at the Center this spring. Many thanks to Jon, the cast and crew, and as always, much love to Bryan.

Puppeteer
Jeffrey C. Zwartjes

Jeffrey C. Zwartjes dabbles about town as a character actor, illustrator, set designer, puppet builder, and/or puppeteer. Previous productions include Cymbeline at the New American Shakespeare Tavern, Bunnicula with Synchronicity Performance Group, and Brer Rabbit & Friends, The Shoemaker & the Elves, and Dinosaurs at the Center for Puppetry Arts. He is a company member of Out of Hand Theater, where he helped create and performed in Nobody Here But Us Chickens, MEDS, and Stadium 360. Many thanks to Jon Ludwig for having me come and play once more, and all the love to Amy.
