The Center for Puppetry Arts’ Jon Ludwig Apprenticeship is a funded internship program in honor of the organization’s longtime artistic presence Jon Ludwig that provides practical learning experience to the individual interested in pursuing a career in professional puppetry. Through hands-on activities, the program seeks to instill a fundamental understanding of the workings of a professional puppetry company.

Applications are open each summer for an 8-week fall position.

For more than 40 years, the Center has hosted and curated a collection of community-sourced puppetry performances for the annual Xperimental Puppetry Theater. For one weekend in early May, selected artists stage their finished work for packed audiences looking for something different, inspiring, and whimsical.
