Center for Puppetry Arts Welcomes New Chief Development Officer, Sarah Dylla

Sarah Dylla Joins the Center for Puppetry Arts as New Chief Development Officer

ATLANTA (April 2023) – The Center for Puppetry Arts is excited to announce Sarah Dylla as its new Chief Development Officer. Dylla is a self-described public humanist and creative strategist who has worked in museums, libraries, and arts organizations for over 15 years. In her past work, Dylla has managed creative and administrative endeavors, supporting organizations to grow responsibly, optimize unique opportunities, and expand the impact of their mission.

Dylla is excited to return to the Center after previously serving as the Center’s Museum Director from 2021 to 2022. Dylla’s new role as Chief Development Officer will focus on strengthening institutional capacity, increasing connectivity to the Atlanta community and beyond, and advancing the visions of the creative teams in the theater, museum, and education programs.

Before Dylla’s new role at the Center, she was the Director of Advancement and Philanthropy at MASS Design Group, a nonprofit architecture and design collective working internationally to make social and environmental changes in our built environment. Previously, Dylla served as the Curator for Atlanta 96: Shaping an Olympic and Paralympic City at the Atlanta History Center and held collections, access, and exhibitions roles in the special collections libraries at Rhode Island School of Design and Brown University. She has previously worked in fundraising and research at the Savannah Music Festival and Virgin Islands National Park, respectively. Dylla holds a B.A. from the University of Virginia in Art and Art History and an M.A. from Brown University in Public Humanities.

Center for Puppetry Arts® is a unique cultural treasure – a magical place where children and adults are educated, enlightened, and entertained. Since 1978, the Center has introduced millions of visitors to the wonder and art of puppetry and has touched the lives of many through enchanting performances, curriculum-based workshops, and the hands-on Museum as well as Digital Learning and Outreach programs. Center for Puppetry Arts is a non-profit, 501(c) (3) organization and is supported in part by contributions from corporations, foundations, government agencies, and individuals. Major funding is provided by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners and the City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs. These programs are also supported in part by the Georgia Council for the Arts through the appropriations of the Georgia General Assembly. GCA is a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts. The Center is a member of Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA/USA/ASSITEJ). The Center also serves as the headquarters of UNIMA-USA, the American branch of Union Internationale de la Marionnette, the international puppetry organization.
