Atlanta’s Center for Puppetry Arts Premieres the Jim Henson Company’s Take on General Mills Iconic Monsters Cereal Puppets Count Chocula, Boo Berry, and Franken Berry.

Limited Time Only
ATLANTA, GA (September 2025) – Brand-new, this October, three of the most iconic monsters of the 1980s are coming exclusively to the Center for Puppetry Arts. Thanks to a special partnership with The Jim Henson Company – celebrating its 70th anniversary this year – and General Mills, the Center for Puppetry Arts is honored to be the first institution to display the beloved Monsters Cereal characters: Count Chocula, Boo Berry, and Franken Berry in their new fuzzy form.
The newly created puppets will be featured in a pop-up in the Center’s Atrium through the month of October, offering visitors a chance to get up close with the characters that fueled countless Saturday mornings. The spooky fun kicks off with Cereal Saturday Night on Saturday, September 27 at 7PM, a special after-hours program designed especially for Gen Xers and Millennials who grew up with Monsters Cereal. Guests will enjoy a night of throwback fun including a first peek of the puppets, behind the scenes storytelling about their creation, and beer and cereal pairings.
“We are thrilled to celebrate these legendary characters in partnership with The Jim Henson Company and General Mills,” said Museum Director Jill Malool at the Center for Puppetry Arts. “Puppetry has a long history of use in advertising. Count Chocula, Boo Berry, and Franken Berry are cultural icons for many of us, and it is so special to see them transformed from their two-dimensional cereal boxes into three dimensions by the masterful builders of The Jim Henson Company.”
This limited time only display of these nostalgic creatures will delight fans who remember getting fresh Trapper Keepers for school, singing along to School House Rock, or slipping on a Hypercolor shirt and hitting the arcade.
Don’t miss your chance to see the Monster Cereal puppets before they vanish at the end of October.
