Put a little whimsy into your summer at the Center for Puppetry Arts Puppet Camp, where young creators bring their imaginations to life. In one to two-week sessions, campers build confidence through hands-on fun featuring puppet parties, parades, and performances while celebrating creativity at every turn.
Meet the Cast

Luis Hernandez
Puppeteer
Luis R. Hernandez marks his third torturous tour through Edgar Allan Poe’s tragic tales with this production. Here at the Center, he has previously appeared in Harold and the Purple Crayon, Old MacDonald, Duke Ellington’s Cat, Little Pirate Mermaid, Cinderella Della, Pete the Cat, Mother Goose, Peter Pan, SPACE!, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Beauty & the Beast, Charlotte’s Web, Winnie the Pooh, The Adventures of Mighty Bug, and in the title role of Don Quixote. Some of his other favorite past shows in Atlanta theatre include Spamalot (Atlanta Lyric Theatre), Inside I and The Navigator (7 Stages), The Boys Next Door (Georgia Ensemble Theatre), Kiss Me Kate (Stage Door) Guys and Dolls (Aurora Theatre), and Jesus Hopped the A Train (Actor’s Express). You may have also seen him on the stages of ART Station, Horizon Theatre, Synchronicity, Dad’s Garage, and The Shakespeare Tavern. His Film & TV credits include Devious Maids, NCIS: New Orleans, Dynasty, Candy, Swarm, Florida Man, The Undedoggs, and Superman. Thank you for supporting live theatre!

Reay Maxwell
Puppeteer
REAY KAPLAN MAXWELL is an Atlanta based actress and puppeteer, as well as the Education Initiatives Manager at the Center for Puppetry Arts. Reay holds a B.S. in Acting from Syracuse University and a M.A. in Puppetry from the University of Connecticut. Her work has been seen at the Center For Puppetry Arts, the Alliance Theatre, 7 Stages, Synchronicity Theatre, Dad’s Garage and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, to name a few. Reay’s work extends to audio book narration, and her voice can be heard in 30+ titles, available through Audible.com.

Frank Oakley III
Puppeteer
Frank Oakley III (PUPPETEER) – is very excited to be making his debut at the Center! Frank is a proud alumnus of The University of Missouri-Kansas City where he obtained his BA in Theatre Performance. You may have seen him as Roob in “Roob and Noob” as well as in “Knock, Knock” (Alliance Theatre), Walter Moore in the Christmas comedy “All is Merry & Bright” (Prime Video) and as a fan favorite – Coach Harlan Bixby on “Sweet Magnolias” (Netflix) – season 5 dropping June 11th! Aileen Loy
Musician
Aileen Loy is a multi-disciplinary artist, specializing in art assemblage and music. She has lived and worked with bands, as a singer and sometime musician, in Berlin, Prague and Atlanta. She is especially pleased to be featuring her handmade, musical instruments in the livescoring of The Tales of Edgar Allan Poe. Ask her about whales.
