Presented by Humor With a Heart

Get ready for an evening of comedy, storytelling, fish staplers, and resilience through the arts.

When Leslie Carrara-Rudolph and Jamie Donmoyer connected on the set of Disney’s Johnny and the Sprites, creative sparks flew. Their shared love of the weird and wonderful — and their commitment to shining light in the darkest places — grew into decades of friendship and comedic collaboration.

Now, they’re bringing that same joyful energy to the stage for a lively, behind-the-scenes look at how two creative humans turn imagination into impact. Blending their experience in live theater, television, education, and community outreach, Leslie and Jamie help people navigate life creatively through the arts.

Get a peek inside the creative process that has taken them from classrooms to corporate trainings — including work with companies like Google — using humor to connect, heal, and inspire. They’ll speak candidly about resilience, collaboration, and finding your voice while… well… making it weird.

Expect humor.
Expect heart.
Expect at least one story you didn’t see coming.
Come curious — leave lighthearted.

Abby Cadabby will not be at this event, but her performer (Leslie) will — along with some quirky characters.

Leslie Carrara-Rudolph
Leslie Carrara-Rudolph is the multiple–Emmy Award–winning performer behind Sesame Street’s Abby Cadabby and Tango. A multi-faceted entertainer, writer, and creator known for her hilariously poignant signature blend of weird whimsy, Leslie created an original show for Disney, headlined a sold-out NYC cabaret residency, and received a Jim Henson Foundation grant and a UNIMA Citation of Excellence for her off-Broadway show Wake Up Your Weird.

A graduate of San Francisco State University, where she designed her own major (BA, Child Development Through the Arts), Leslie began her career creating programs for at-risk youth before becoming a puppeteer on Muppets Tonight. Her work spans PBS, Nickelodeon, Apple TV+, Netflix, and films including The Muppets and Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

Leslie continues to bridge generations, touring with her candy-loving 5-year-old alter ego, Lolly Lardpop, and speaking everywhere from schools and fundraisers to conferences — including twice as a keynote speaker for Google. She delights in reaching the young and the young at heart with the company she co-founded, Humor with a Heart, helping children and adults navigate life creatively.
