Tales Told Through Puppetry

Join a Center for Puppetry Arts puppeteer/Teaching Artist and explore puppetry as an engaging and powerful classroom tool!  Participants will enjoy a fun warm up that activates bodies and brains, discover the diverse styles of puppetry, learn the basics of puppet manipulation, and be inspired by a wide variety of low cost puppets for the classroom.  These experiences will allow participants to leave with the basic tools they need to bring puppets into their teaching and learning environments.

 

Capacity: 25 adults

Duration: 75-90 minutes (can be customized for ½ day and all-day experiences, too, adding elements of storyboarding and writing for puppet theatre, scene work, puppet building, and more!)

Fee: $200 at your location or the Center

Location Options: Offered on-site at the Center for Puppetry Arts or at your location

Mileage: Mileage rates apply if at your location. Outside Metro Atlanta, travel and per diem /lodging rates apply.

Aretta Baumgartner
Aretta is a performer/teaching artist specializing in puppetry, mask, and movement. She’s been a professional puppeteer since 1992. Aretta oversees more than 50 distinct types of educational programming and outreach. She is an active performer, teacher and creator of new works for puppetry. As a testament to her leadership in the puppetry community, Aretta was recently elected President of the Puppeteers of America.
