Request Touring Shows for Summer 2027

The Center for Puppetry Arts is proud to announce the relaunch of its touring productions, returning for the first time in 17 years to deliver high-quality puppetry experiences directly to communities across Georgia and beyond. This renewed effort will kick off in Hall County, where the Center will present “Owl at Home” to approximately 2,000 second-grade students in an experience generously funded by the Melvin Douglas and Victoria Kay Ivester Foundation.

With the Foundation’s partnership, the Center brings this fully staged production to young learners throughout Hall County free of charge during a two-week residency at Brenau University’s Hosch Theatre, from April 22-April 30, expanding access to arts education and live performance.

Thank you to the Melvin Douglas and Victoria Kay Ivester Foundation for supporting the Center’s relaunch of touring programs with an April 2026 residency in Hall County, Georgia for “Owl at Home.” Learn more here

Interested in bringing a performance to your venue in summer 2027? Complete our Touring Show Request Form to share your interest and receive additional details as they become available. Our team will follow up with more information about programming, availability, and next steps.

The program will debut with a pilot residency in Gainesville, reaching approximately 2,000 early elementary students through a two-week engagement featuring a fully staged production of Owl at Home.

Designed to meet students where they are, these touring experiences feature professional puppeteers, dynamic storytelling, and immersive performances that extend beyond the stage. Rooted in art-infused education, puppetry combines visual storytelling, movement, and imaginative play to actively engage students’ attention, curiosity, and emotions while fostering empathy, creativity, and critical thinking.

As the program grows, the Center’s touring initiative will continue to create meaningful, accessible arts experiences that inspire imagination, deepen learning, and spark a lifelong appreciation for storytelling.
