Make Summer Magical with Puppet Camp
Puppet Camp at the Center for Puppetry Arts is the ultimate summertime adventure! Campers will have a blast learning about puppetry from all over the world, building their very own puppets, and playing and exploring alongside new puppet-curious friends!
The Center for Puppetry Arts offers three different summer Puppet Camps, each designed to inspire and delight their specific age group.

Puppet Arts Camp (ages 6-7) emphasizes the play and exploration inherent to the amazing art of puppetry. Through fun visual art, creative dramatics, and music activities, Puppet Arts Campers will discover how ALL the arts are part of puppet making, puppet show creation, and puppetry performance.
Puppet Discovery Camp (ages 8-9) introduces campers to a different style of puppetry each day. Campers will learn about shadow puppets, rod puppets, string puppets, and so much more. Puppet Discovery Campers will have the unique opportunity to connect puppetry styles with their diverse global roots and the cultural traditions that inspire them.
Puppet Theater Camp (ages 10-12) invites campers to work in small groups to create their own puppet shows! Campers will experience ALL the amazing elements of puppet theatre building, and performing. On Friday, the intrepid young puppeteers will take to the stage to share their world premiere shows with family and friends.

Yes. To be considerate of all our campers and staff, we are a nut-free camp.
Please send your camper with a lunch and an afternoon snack. There will not be refrigerator or microwave access, so please plan lunches and snacks accordingly! We also ask that your camper bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated during the day.
Campers staying for aftercare may want another snack option.
Yes! Families will be invited on Friday afternoon to help us celebrate everything their camper has learned throughout the week. Each week’s final presentation will look a little different based on the unique interests of those campers, but expect to experience puppetry, movement, music, and more!
Campers will be asked to keep any devices put away during camp activities, or better yet to leave them at home. In the event of an emergency, families will be able to contact our Summer Camp Manager.
No. Campers must be enrolled in the appropriate camp designed for their age at the time of camp. The material of each camp has been designed to be age-appropriate and developmentally suitable, all while leaving room to adapt to the needs of each unique camper. In the case of older campers participating in a camp designed for younger campers, there is always the concern of a student not being best engaged by the material and activities. Conversely, a younger child in one of the more advanced camps might feel a little behind. We will be able to offer fun challenges and new things to learn for even the most advanced student within a particular age range!
Full-price camp cancellations made more than 30 days before the start date of the camp session will receive a full refund. Any camp cancellation made less than 30 days before the start date of the camp session will incur a 50% penalty of the original fee.
