Create a Customizable Puppet!
Have you ever wanted to build a rod puppet with a working mouth mechanism but don’t know where to start? Let Puppet Shop Foreman Sam Carter take the mystery out of the process by doing the hard part for you. Sam has developed a ready-made DIY kit for rod puppet making he calls a “Boopos Blank.” In this class, Sam will walk you through the assembly of your own Boopos Blank kit from start to finish, and by the end, you will have a working rod puppet ready for you to customize with fur, fabric, clay, papier mache, or any other covering you choose. This class is recommended for makers ages 16 and up and requires the use of basic hand tools and adhesives.
Students will be provided with everything they need to complete the Boopos Blank puppet kit. Students are encouraged to bring any additional materials to begin customizing their puppet into a unique character.
