Shari Lewis: Puppeteer, Performer, Pioneer 

Celebrate Shari Lewis, the legendary performer who brought the iconic puppet Lamb Chop to life. After debuting Lamb Chop on Captain Kangaroo in 1956, she became a beloved figure in children’s television, starring in The Shari Lewis Show and later Lamb Chop’s Play Along. Shari’s career spanned television, live performances, and international tours, earning her 12 Emmy Awards and other accolades. She continued innovating in children’s entertainment until her death in 1998, leaving a lasting legacy through her beloved characters and educational programming.
