Create-A-Puppet Workshop™

Enjoy interactive, curriculum-inspired puppet building workshops for children ages 4 & up. Participants become puppet makers and puppeteers as they each create a puppet and perform with it on our classroom stage or in your home "studio".  Ages 2 and 3 are welcome if accompanied by an adult puppet builder. Learning activities in the instructor-led sessions and the puppet design correlate with the current Family Series performance theme.

Also available Online (live and interactive). Puppet kits are also available in the Center for Puppetry Arts Etsy shop.

Create-A-Puppet Workshop™ To-Go Kits

We will assemble individual bags of puppet-making materials for each person in your group. You supply glue and/or tape. Makes a great follow-up art activity to further engage students and reinforce what they've learned at the Center. Comes with an illustrated step-by-step instruction sheet or click here for video instructions. 

Cost: Workshop is included in an All-Inclusive Ticket; $4.50 for Members and $6.50 for General Public when purchased a la carte. Click here for information about group/field trip pricing.

Aretta Baumgartner
Aretta is a performer/teaching artist specializing in puppetry, mask, and movement. She’s been a professional puppeteer since 1992. Aretta oversees more than 50 distinct types of educational programming and outreach. She is an active performer, teacher and creator of new works for puppetry. As a testament to her leadership in the puppetry community, Aretta was recently elected President of the Puppeteers of America.
