Hand Armature for Puppets
Every fingerprint is unique and so is every puppet! But how do you make the armature inside the hand and still have room for the arm rods and everything else?
This live workshop will show you an easy way to make your hand armature that will make the best use of the material as well as provide a solid structure for your puppet.
Follow along as we make the hands in real time with tips and tricks you can repeat at home.
Level: Beginner/Intermediate: Ages 17-Adult
Puppet Shop Manager
Carole D’Agostino
Carole D’Agostino is a puppeteer and fabricator for TV, film, and stage. She’s also the Puppet Shop Manager at the Center for Puppetry Arts! Her original piece Helix of Fire was part of the Center’s Xperimental Puppet Theater (XPT) in 2017. Other work collaborations include The Kennedy Center’s Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! The Musical, as well other projects with The Jim Henson Creature Shop NYC, Puppet Heap and The Lyon Puppets. Selected credits: Muppets: Most Wanted, Sesame Street, Crank Yankers, Greg the Bunny, Broadway’s Avenue Q, Aladdin, and Shrek! The Musical. She was an original cast member in John Tartaglia’s ImaginOcean Off Broadway.
