Special Panel and Discussion

Special Guests: Javier Díaz de León, Consul General of Mexico

Join us for a special evening reception to kick off the opening weekend of the Center for Puppetry Arts’ premiere of Pancho Rabbit and the Coyote and celebrate the start of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Adapting a story from the page to the stage is a multifaceted, unpredictable, and fascinating journey – especially when it involves puppetry. Meet the creative team behind the Center for Puppetry Arts’ upcoming world premiere of Pancho Rabbit and the Coyote. Hear from the award-winning author (Tonatiuh), the playwright and lyricist (Espinoza), and the puppet designer and director of the production (Hines). Get an inside look at how a production of this size and complexity moves from a creative concept to a reality, hear how decisions like style and type of puppetry are chosen, and why this collaborative team feels that this story is relevant as both a cultural experience and a teaching tool in our classrooms.

Tickets also include the following:
  • Complimentary refreshments from Mexican and Latin American vendors
  • Cash Bar
  • Take-away Create-A-Puppet kit and study guide
