Explore Puppetry Series

Presented by Dolph Amick, Composer/Music Director/Resident Artist, Center for Puppetry Arts

Join Center for Puppetry Arts Resident Artist, music director, and composer Dolph Amick to celebrate the importance and advantages of original music for puppet shows! You’ll learn about copyright, the use of technology to create and capture music (cell phone, portable recorder, computer), and the special needs of music for live performance (such as selecting appropriate keys and giving clear cues and pickups). Participants become a part of problem-solving and creative decision-making as they work together to create a couple of short pieces of music to cover some simple stage action. The session concludes with a fun, simple puppet performance to the just-created collaborative music!
