Call To Auction

May 3-5

Last year was the Center’s first online auction and we were thrilled with the engagement and support we received. Many of the items that were donated for the auction were one-of-a kind objects or experiences. Follow us on social to learn more about all of the upcoming events at the Center.

2021 String Fling: Illuminate the Night!

On Saturday October 2nd, the Center for Puppetry Arts held its 22nd annual String Fling fundraiser, sponsored by WarnerMedia. The event took place at the historic home of Judy and Ed Garland and was chaired by Board Members, Sydney Langdon and Gigi Rouland. Illuminate the Night was the theme of the event and to do just that, the Center engaged lantern parade artist, Chantelle Rytter, and her Krewe of Grateful Gluttons. The focus of the event was to honor Vincent Anthony, Founder and Strategic Advisor of the Center for Puppetry Arts.

2021 Call to Auction!

Center for Puppetry Arts Gala Co-chairs Sydney Langford and Gigi Rouland were planning a spring fundraising event when Covid hit. They pivoted fast and with board members Debbie Ellis, Judy Garland, Cheryl Henson, Susan Langford and Catherine Kraft Love, they took on the challenge.  This team produced an online “Call to Auction!” and on May 6th the proceeds added $169,330 to the Center’s coffers.  1,300 supporters answered the call and logged in to bid from all 50 states, Canada, UK, Netherlands, France, Argentina, and Australia. Hot ticket items included a museum tour with The Vampire Diaries’, Kat Graham, a Zoom call with Disney director, Kevin Lima and a Zoom meeting with Dave Goelz (Gonzo). A VIP virtual meet and greet with Netflix’s The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance series’ lead puppeteers was also wildly popular and an in-person VIP experience in New York City with Cheryl Henson sold for $21,500!

Thanks to Your Field Trip Donations

Without the…school discount you provided, I’m pretty sure very few of our parents could afford for their child to go. We’re very appreciative. Today was the first time most (if not all) of our students have been to the Center and they all want to go back!
