Center for Puppetry Arts Announces New Reduced Child Pricing to Kick Off 25-26 Season

Center for Puppetry Arts Launches Reduced Children’s Pricing for New Season of Literary Adaptations
ATLANTA (May 2025) — In an effort to keep the arts accessible for families during a time of rising costs, the Center for Puppetry Arts is pleased to announce new children’s pricing beginning in June with the launch of its new season. Running summer 2025 through spring 2026, this new season boasts an impressive schedule of performances featuring a vibrant mix of beloved family favorites, daring works for adults, and world premieres, along with many literary adaptations—each designed to inspire curiosity and spark imagination.
Family Series Performances
Kicking off the season is the return of the Suzi Bass Award-winning adaptation of Harold and the Purple Crayon. Based on the beloved book by Crockett Johnson, this whimsical production invites audiences on a colorful journey through Harold’s boundless imagination. The Family Series continues with a lively adaptation of the Theodor Seuss Geisel Award-winning book Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type, followed by the festive flair of the Latin American folktale La Cucarachita Martina (Martina, the Little Roach). Returning for the holiday season is Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer™ followed by The Dragon King, winner of the prestigious UNIMA-USA Citation of Excellence in Puppetry, and the groovy, music-filled adventure Pete the Cat, based on the New York Times Best Seller. Rounding out the lineup is T-Rex Took My Toothbrush, an inventive production and proud recipient of a Family Grant from the Jim Henson Foundation.
Two world premieres bring fresh excitement to the season. The Center for Puppetry Arts is excited to add a title for families to its popular Halloween lineup with Spookhouse Annie is a spooky-silly romp perfect for all ages. Meanwhile, The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales —adapted from the popular children’s book by Jon Scieszka—offers a zany, reimagined retelling of classic folktales.
Adult Performances
For adult audiences, the Center continues to push creative boundaries with a lineup of bold and thought-provoking productions, including the emotionally powerful Unraveling from Shadow Girls Cult of Seattle, Washington; the Suzi Bass Award winner for Outstanding Costume Design, The Tales of Edgar Allan Poe for teens and adults; the fifth installment of the Center for Puppetry Arts’ contemporary program Puppetry NOW featuring theatrical designer and puppeteer Tom Lee’s The Mirrored Pool; the Halloween fan-favorite The Ghastly Dreadfuls; and the community-focused Xperimental Puppetry Theater (XPT).
