The Nancy Staub Research Library contains books and archival materials that document the history and art of puppetry.

Items Available
Archives
Over 70 linear feet of puppetry related archival material is available to researchers for reference. Collections include primary resources from The Little Players, Marjorie McPharlin, Thom Fountain, and others. There is archival documentation of Puppetry Guilds and Festivals as well as the history of the Center for Puppetry Arts.
These materials are available for viewing in our Library by appointment only.

Exhibition Catalogs
These catalogs document the special puppetry exhibitions that the Center has organized since the 1980s. These catalogs are organized by year and title and are available for download.
Periodicals
Housing over 1300 puppetry related Periodicals, the Library offers UNIMA and puppetry publications from around the world in a variety of languages including The Puppetry Journal, Puppetry International, Asian Theatre, A propos, and Die Spielleiste.
Films
The Film Collection includes the Center’s own performances, global films and performances, and commercial movies that include puppetry. Center performances are organized by season, global films are organized by country, and commercial movies are organized in alphabetical order.
Books
The Center’s Nancy Staub Puppetry Research Library includes over 1,100 global puppetry books, with topics including history, construction, type, and puppeteers.
We often receive new titles, so please email us to inquire if we have a title.
